Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Mayfair Movers
Mayfair Movers is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly, with absolute respect for human rights across all operations and supply chains. This Modern Slavery Statement outlines the actions we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in our business and among our suppliers.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Mayfair Movers maintains a strict zero-tolerance stance towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with or support any organisation, individual, or activity that involves forced labour, debt bondage, servitude, exploitation of vulnerable persons, or any form of human trafficking.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this policy. Breaches will result in decisive action, which may include termination of contracts, cessation of business relationships, internal disciplinary procedures, and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Our core services include residential and commercial removals, packing, storage, and associated logistics. We rely on a network of suppliers and subcontractors for vehicles, equipment, packaging materials, storage facilities, and specialist labour. We recognise that some elements of these supply chains, particularly those involving temporary labour and outsourced services, may carry higher risks of labour exploitation.
We are committed to identifying, assessing, and mitigating these risks through responsible sourcing, diligent supplier selection, and continuous oversight of our business relationships.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Mayfair Movers conducts due diligence on suppliers and subcontractors prior to engagement and on an ongoing basis. This process includes assessing their employment practices, ethical standards, and compliance with applicable labour and human rights laws.
We require key suppliers to confirm that they do not engage in modern slavery and that they, in turn, require the same standards from their own supply chains. Where appropriate, we undertake audits or request evidence of compliance, such as documented policies, worker contracts, and proof of age and wage records. If concerns are identified, we will work with suppliers to address and rectify issues within a reasonable timeframe, or we will end the relationship if satisfactory improvements are not made.
Training and Awareness
We provide guidance and awareness information to managers and employees involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management so they can recognise indicators of modern slavery and understand how to respond. Training covers responsible recruitment, fair working conditions, and the importance of vigilance when dealing with high-risk sectors or locations.
We encourage all team members to challenge practices that appear unsafe, unfair, or exploitative, and to escalate any concerns promptly.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Mayfair Movers promotes a culture of openness and integrity. Any employee, supplier, contractor, or third party who has concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical labour practices within our operations or supply chains is encouraged to report them through our established reporting channels.
Concerns can be raised in writing to senior management or via internal reporting mechanisms made available to staff. Reports can be submitted confidentially, and individuals who raise concerns in good faith will be protected from retaliation or adverse treatment. All reports will be investigated promptly, sensitively, and, where necessary, escalated to appropriate external bodies.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Mayfair Movers is committed to continuous improvement in our policies, procedures, and risk management practices. We regularly monitor legal developments, industry guidance, and best practice standards to enhance our approach.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once a year by senior management to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. As part of this annual review, we evaluate our due diligence processes, supplier performance, incident reports, and training outcomes. Where necessary, we update our procedures and take additional steps to strengthen our defences against modern slavery.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Mayfair Movers and represents our enduring commitment to operating a business that respects human dignity and actively works to prevent modern slavery in all its forms.
